Els seus carrers, ampliats durant els anys trenta i quaranta del segle XX, de seguida van quedar petits, i no va ser fins a la d\u00e8cada dels setanta quan va sortir a la llum el projecte definitiu de la via de circumval\u00b7laci\u00f3 o Tercer Cintur\u00f3 de Madrid (M-30), que fou constru\u00efda amb urg\u00e8ncia per la pressi\u00f3 de la congesti\u00f3 vi\u00e0ria de l\u2019\u00e8poca.<br \/>\nA la d\u00e8cada del 1990, el Ministeri de Foment va centrar els seus recursos en la construcci\u00f3 d\u2019una nova via, la M-40, que va descongestionar el tr\u00e0nsit supramunicipal. Deu anys m\u00e9s tard, es van centrar els esfor\u00e7os en la integraci\u00f3 urbana de la M-30, sota el nom de Madrid Calle 30, a trav\u00e9s d\u2019una empresa publicoprivada constitu\u00efda per elaborar el projecte i la construcci\u00f3 de la reforma de la M-30 i que actualment s\u2019ocupa de la seva gesti\u00f3 i manteniment.<br \/>\nEl maig del 2007 van finalitzar les obres del t\u00fanel sud de la M-30 que, juntament amb el pas per sota el Manzanares, constitueix un t\u00fanel de m\u00e9s de 12 km. Es converteixen aix\u00ed tots els marges fluvials en un gran parc lineal, el projecte Madrid R\u00edo, un corredor verd metropolit\u00e0 que posa en valor tots els espais naturals i el patrimoni urb\u00e0 relacionat des de sempre amb el riu. Es tracta d\u2019un gran projecte metropolit\u00e0 amb car\u00e0cter vertebrador que enlla\u00e7a des del Prado fins a Getafe, espais verds, jardins, parcs urbans, boscos i carrers, i recupera aix\u00ed la relaci\u00f3 de la ciutat amb el riu.<br \/>\nM\u00e9s informaci\u00f3 a:<br \/>\nProjecte Madrid R\u00edo.
