LIFE ABATE project pilot.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/li><\/ul><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h5><strong>The launch preparation<\/strong><\/h5>\n\n\n\n<p>A few months ago, we explained that <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/blogs.amb.cat\/residus\/en\/2025\/10\/15\/the-life-abate-pilot-arrives-at-ecoparc-3\/\" data-type=\"URL\" data-id=\"https:\/\/blogs.amb.cat\/residus\/en\/2025\/10\/15\/the-life-abate-pilot-arrives-at-ecoparc-3\/\" target=\"_blank\">the different pieces of the LIFE ABATE pilot project had arrived at Ecoparc 3<\/a>. But the most important thing was still missing: the assembly and the start-up of all the equipment. Thus, these last few weeks have been spent finalizing the necessary details for the implementation of the ABATE solution.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The heat exchanger, the equipment responsible for cooling the clean air entering the greenhouse, has been installed and connected to the adiabatic cooler. This system allows the treated, clean air to cooled before being injected into the greenhouse. Adiabatic cooler.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/li><\/ul><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Once all the equipment was installed and connected, Kalfrisa moved to Ecoparc 3 to begin the start-up of the entire system.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>At the same time, the <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/blogs.amb.cat\/residus\/en\/2026\/03\/17\/we-start-the-experimental-campaign-of-crops-in-the-life-abate-greenhouse\/\" data-type=\"URL\" data-id=\"https:\/\/blogs.amb.cat\/residus\/en\/2026\/03\/17\/we-start-the-experimental-campaign-of-crops-in-the-life-abate-greenhouse\/\" target=\"_blank\">experimental campaign for the greenhouse crops<\/a> began, led by the Grup de Recerca i Innovaci\u00f3 de la Construcci\u00f3 de la Universitat Polit\u00e8cnica de Barcelona (UPC). As a reminder, the LIFE ABATE project aims to:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>Reduce energy consumption and carbon footprint by 90\u00a0%<\/li><li>Decrease operating costs by 82\u00a0%<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Currently, the pilot is in operation, and the first operational data are already being monitored through the control system.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h5><strong>The team<\/strong><\/h5>\n\n\n\n<p>This achievement is the result of joint work and coordination between all project partners. During this period, we will be observing the system\u2019s performance, adjusting operating parameters and analyzing the initial results.
